[Cashfree Payments Has Rebranded as Cashfree]
Cashfree Payments has changed its public brand name to Cashfree and introduced a new logo called “The Edge.” The change comes as the company prepares for Global Fintech Fest 2026 and enters what it is calling Cashfree 2.0. The company says the new identity reflects the business it has become after more than a decade of building products around payments, financial technology and, more recently, AI-driven commerce. Cashfree is presenting the change as a brand update rather than a departure from its payments business. The company’s current messaging continues to cover payments and related financial infrastructure while putting greater emphasis on technology and products built for newer digital experiences.
The New Logo Is Called “The Edge”
Cashfree says the new mark, The Edge, represents the direction it wants the company to take in its next phase. Company executives have described the thinking behind the identity around speed, technology and a strong focus on customers. The company is also referring to the wider change as Cashfree 2.0.
The rebrand comes with a simpler public name. The word “Payments” has been dropped from the brand, leaving Cashfree as the name used in the new identity. The company says this reflects an expansion that has taken it beyond its original payments positioning. Its current business includes payments alongside products in areas such as verification and fraud detection, while its newer launches are aimed at AI-based commerce.
Cashfree Wants the New Name to Reflect a Broader Business
Cashfree was founded in 2015 and initially became known for online payments and related infrastructure. Its product portfolio has since expanded, and the company has been working on ways for businesses to accept and move money in newer digital environments. Cashfree says it now handles about $80 billion in annual transaction volume and serves more than 800,000 businesses.
The change in name is therefore connected to how the company describes itself today. Rather than making “payments” the defining word in its public identity, Cashfree is using the shorter name while continuing to operate its payments business under that brand. The company says the new identity is intended to represent technology, infrastructure and products designed for the next phase of online commerce.
AI Is Already Part of Cashfree’s Product Strategy
Cashfree’s recent product launches provide some context for the new positioning. In October 2025, the company introduced Agentic Payments, allowing businesses to use AI agents to handle parts of a shopping journey and complete payments inside a conversation. Cashfree described the system as a way to bring discovery, recommendations and payment into the same interaction.
In February 2026, Cashfree followed that with Cashfree Here, which it described as a payments extension for AI applications. The company launched it in collaboration with Mastercard and Swiggy and said it could support payments directly inside conversational interfaces such as ChatGPT and Claude.
Cashfree’s current Global Fintech Fest 2026 page goes further, describing its Cashfree Agentic Stack as an AI-powered stack for the next generation of payments. The company says several jobs within a money stack can be handled by agents while users retain approval over transactions.
The Previous Major Brand Refresh Came in 2024
Cashfree had already refreshed its identity in December 2024 through its “Move Fast” campaign. At the time, the company said the campaign represented speed, reliability and operational efficiency and used a new version of its logo alongside the campaign.
That earlier identity was closely tied to the payments company's efforts to present itself as a faster technology provider for businesses. The 2026 change goes in a broader direction. Instead of putting another payments-focused message at the centre of the brand, Cashfree is using the new identity to represent a company that says its work now extends further into technology and AI-native products.
The New Identity Arrives Before Global Fintech Fest 2026
Cashfree is rolling out the new branding as Global Fintech Fest 2026 approaches in Mumbai. The company's official event page lists the event from September 9 to September 11 and promotes the Cashfree Agentic Stack as part of its presence at the conference.
That makes the event an important public stage for the new identity. Cashfree is expected to use the conference to present products and developments around payments and AI infrastructure, giving the new brand a setting where the company can show the wider range of products behind the name.
